Things You Learn Along the Way
Things I am still learning are simple reflections of the the realities of my work: craft over trends, judgment over imitation, substance over appearance, and good work over easy wins.
Ideas are everywhere.
They need boundaries to be real.
Rules are useful.
Until they aren’t.
Mistakes are beautiful.
Perfect is boring.
Doubt means you’re halfway there.
Discipline gets you there.
Bad projects shape you.
Craft makes you.
Passion doesn’t pay the bills.
Clients do.
Good design is for good clients.
Not every client is your client.
Feelings matter.
So do numbers.
Make time for friends.
Some friends are forever.
Work matters.
Family matters more.

What is a good design
Good design principles are easier to list than to apply — and most lists get it wrong. We've spent twenty years testing what actually holds under pressure: across 81 logos, 128 projects, and judging rooms where good design either survives scrutiny or quietly doesn't. What makes design work isn't a checklist. It's a set of decisions that age well, communicate without effort, and resist the urge to explain themselves.
Deadlines
Design project deadlines are not the enemy of good work — they are the condition that makes good work possible. We've delivered over 128 projects across two decades, and the deadline has never once been optional. What changes is how seriously you treat it as a design constraint rather than an administrative inconvenience.
If You Were Ever a Developer, This Is Your Time to Return
Developers returning to coding right now are walking into something different than what they left. The tools got faster, the frameworks multiplied, and somewhere in that churn the advantage quietly moved — away from raw output, toward judgment. If you built things before and stopped, developers returning to coding after a break carry something the continuous practitioners often don't: distance, and the clarity that comes with it.
The Currency of Respect
Respect as currency is not a metaphor we use lightly — it is the actual unit of exchange in every client relationship we have built since 2004. We have watched projects collapse not over budget or concept, but over the slow withdrawal of basic professional respect. When respect as currency depreciates, no invoice or award recovers the loss.
Ljubljana to do
Ljubljana to-do lists are usually the same – the castle, the market, Plečnik. We have been designing in this city since 2004 and we see it differently: through the facades, the typography on the windows, the details that the tourist guide doesn't mention. This guide is Ljubljana to-do for those who observe.
Know Your Duty, Poet
Half the year gone, hammock by the sea — and still the same question: did I create enough? The poet's debt is never fully paid.
Vibe coding
Vibe coding design is not a shortcut — it's a discipline we've been practising long before anyone named it. We let visual instinct drive technical decisions, the same way we've approached every identity and interface since 2004. When feel and function collapse into a single gesture, that's vibe coding design working as it should.
Dear Client
Dear client design isn't a letter we wrote lightly. We've been doing this since 2004 — 128 projects, 80+ awards, and more than a few relationships that taught us exactly where the work breaks down. Dear client design starts with a conversation most studios avoid having out loud.
