How do you visualize Slovenia’s AI future through design rooted in computing’s material past?
AI organization identity design takes center stage in our SloAi project, where Visual Brain Gravity crafted a distinctive brand system for Slovenia’s artificial intelligence organization. This AI organization identity design draws from the material history of computing itself, using halftone dot-matrix patterns and dithering techniques—with this in mind, the idea is that logo renders differently across different mediums.
Client: SloAi
Strategy
The brief required capturing AI’s evolution in Slovenia. We studied early computer output systems—thermal printers, dot-matrix terminals, plotter paper. These physical artifacts became our visual foundation.
Execution
Letterforms emerge from solid black corners and dissolve into scattered points. This mimics early image recognition systems: high confidence at edges, uncertainty in transitions. Dithering creates texture through structured pixel patterns.
Outcome
The identity connects Slovenia’s AI community to computing’s material history. Technical constraints became aesthetic strengths.

Dither graphics simulate shades and gradients using patterns of limited colors. By arranging pixels in structured or random ways, they create the illusion of more tones than are actually available. Originally a technical workaround in early computing, dithering is now a distinct visual style—used for texture, atmosphere, and modern aesthetics. We made a tool where you can play with these effects on any photo and export it to a video.
The Design. Bitmap is the medium; dithering is the strategy. One defines the structure; the other manipulates perception. The color feels intelligent yet approachable. It carries the trust and clarity of blue, combined with the imaginative, forward-looking energy of purple.
