How do you turn empty urban spaces into creative communities?

Mobile app design Ljubljana projects require deep understanding of local creative communities. We developed Piip’s complete digital platform, turning the challenge of connecting artists with affordable workspace into intuitive mobile app design Ljubljana creatives actually use.

Client: Piip

The brief

Creatives need affordable workspace while cities hold countless unused spaces. We needed to bridge this gap without falling into corporate coworking aesthetics that alienate the communities they claim to serve.

The approach

We built a mobile-first platform around visual discovery and trust-building rather than transactions. Clean typography paired with warm colors creates rapport between space owners and creative seekers, while location-based matching prioritizes walkable opportunities.

Outcome

Piip launched as a digital ecosystem that makes finding creative space as intuitive as finding coffee. Communities now form organically around shared workspace rather than through forced networking.

Mobile workspace matching that refuses corporate coworking aesthetics.

The Why behind Piip is straightforward: Ljubljana creatives need affordable workspace while property owners have empty spaces gathering dust. The What — a complete mobile platform — connects these groups without the sterile corporate language that usually kills creative communities before they start. The How: visual discovery over transactional thinking, trust-building over efficiency metrics. I built the interface around photography and personal connection rather than pricing tables and feature lists. The Values are community over commerce and local understanding over scalable solutions.

The Design uses warm colors and clean typography because corporate blues and grays signal the wrong intentions to artists looking for authentic creative space. Location-based matching feels natural on mobile — you see spaces near you, not algorithmic recommendations optimized for conversion. The app architecture prioritizes browsing and relationship-building over quick booking flows. The Story here is simple: technology that understands creative communities looks different than technology built for business efficiency.
