How do you elevate four generations of artisanal craft to luxury status?

Luxury packaging design Ljubljana elevated four generations of Kocbek tradition into award-winning premium territory. We transformed artisanal pumpkin seed oil through luxury packaging design that earned Red Dot recognition while preserving authentic craftsmanship.

Client: Kocbek

The heritage gap

Kocbek’s family had perfected their process since 1929, but craft quality wasn’t translating to market position. We needed to communicate generational knowledge and uncompromising standards to discerning customers who would pay for genuine artisanal luxury.

Green Gold strategy

We positioned the oil as liquid treasure through restrained visual language that emphasized rarity over rusticity. Clean typography and premium packaging materials reflected the purity of single-variety craftsmanship without falling into heritage theater or decorative excess.

Outcome

Kocbek now commands premium positioning in gourmet markets as recognized artisanal luxury food.

Four generations of craft deserved better than farm-stand positioning.

The Why was immediate: Kocbek’s pumpkin seed oil had the quality of luxury but looked like hobby production. Since 1929, their family perfected a process that produces oil worth premium prices, but the packaging communicated none of that mastery. The What became repositioning artisanal craft as liquid treasure — what we called Green Gold. The How meant restraint over rusticity: clean typography, premium materials, visual language that whispered rarity instead of shouting tradition. We stripped away expected craft clichés and built identity around the oil’s actual color and viscosity. The Values stayed rooted in generational knowledge while the expression moved toward contemporary luxury standards.

The Design centers on the product itself — that distinctive green-gold hue becomes the primary brand element. Typography stays minimal. Materials feel substantial. The bottle shape references traditional forms without copying them directly. Everything supports the central Story: this is not rustic craft trying to be luxury, this is luxury that happens to be crafted by hand. The Red Dot recognition confirmed what we built — a brand that finally matched the product quality Kocbek had been producing for nearly a century.

GOOD DESIGN IS FOR GOOD CLIENTS.
