How do you make a fashion competition feel like more than just another shopping center event?

Fashion event branding Ljubljana requires elevating retail programming beyond forgettable shopping center activities. We developed comprehensive fashion event branding for Citycenter Stil that positioned their annual showcase as a serious competition celebrating wearable fashion artistry.

Client: Citycenter Celje

The challenge

Citycenter needed their annual fashion showcase to compete with Ljubljana’s established fashion scene, not blend into forgettable retail programming. The competition celebrates creativity and individuality in the search for wearable fashion icons, requiring positioning that attracts serious fashion talent.

Visual language

We built a modular system combining clean typography with bold color blocking to mirror fashion’s dual nature—structured yet expressive. The visual language allows each year’s materials to feel fresh while maintaining brand recognition, with every touchpoint reinforcing the premium positioning of this style competition.

Outcome

The competition now attracts serious fashion talent and positions Citycenter as a fashion destination beyond typical shopping venues.

Shopping center fashion that refuses to apologize for being shopping center fashion.

The Why behind Citycenter Stil was displacement — Ljubljana’s fashion scene had gravity, Celje’s did not. The What needed to work harder: complete visual identity that could pull serious talent to a retail environment. The How came down to a modular system that could flex across touchpoints without losing coherence. Clean typography, structured layouts, space that breathes. The Values were honesty over aspiration — this is a competition in a shopping center, but it celebrates wearable fashion artistry without pretending to be something else.

The Design succeeds because it does not overcompensate. The system acknowledges its context while creating enough visual authority to attract participants who could choose Ljubljana instead. Modularity lets the identity scale from digital to environmental without dilution. The Story it tells is simple: serious fashion competition happens where it happens, and good branding makes the location irrelevant.

Craft in design thinking is how we structure every decision we make — not what it looks like at the end, but how the problem gets interrogated from the start. We've been working this way since 2004.…
