How do you create freestyle ski graphics that world-class athletes actually choose to ride?
Ski graphics design requires understanding how patterns perform on mountain slopes and chairlift lines. We spent three years developing graphics for Elan’s freestyle ski collection, creating designs that professional freeskiers chose for competition and filming.
Client: Elan Skis
The brief.
Elan builds world-class freestyle skis but their graphics weren’t matching that performance standard. We had three years to develop patterns that top athletes would choose for competition and filming — graphics that work in motion, under pressure, on the world’s most demanding slopes.
The graphics.
We designed bold patterns that maintain visual coherence whether viewed from chairlifts or starting gates. Each graphic balances the technical demands of freeskiing with visual impact, creating designs that read clearly in snow, under boots, and at speed.
Outcome.
Professional freeskiers chose our designs for competition and filming. Athletes like Glen Plake rode them down the world’s most challenging slopes.

Freestyle ski graphics that professional athletes choose to ride.
The Why was immediate: Elan builds competition-grade freestyle skis but their graphics looked like rental equipment. Professional freeskiers were avoiding the brand visually while praising the performance. The What became a three-year development cycle creating patterns that work at speed, from distance, and under the scrutiny of Red Bull cameras. The How required understanding that ski graphics exist in motion — what reads clearly on a chairlift becomes illegible at takeoff, and what works for filming doesn’t always work for judging.
We designed each pattern to maintain visual coherence across viewing conditions. Bold geometries that hold their structure whether seen from starting gates or mountain restaurants. The Values were athletic function over aesthetic trends — graphics that perform as hard as the skis themselves. The Design process meant testing every pattern against real mountain conditions, not just studio lighting. Athletes choose equipment that makes them confident, and confidence comes from gear that looks as serious as their commitment. The Story is simple: world-class athletes now ride Elan graphics by choice, not just for sponsorship contracts. The Red Dot recognition followed the athlete adoption, not the other way around.
