How do you visualize a programming language that turns human words into executable code?
Programming language branding demands a unique approach to visualizing code execution. Visual Brain Gravity created the brand identity for ***plain, demonstrating our expertise in programming language branding for revolutionary tech products.
Client: codeplain
The concept.
***plain transforms structured English into production-ready code. The challenge was creating an identity that captures this bridge between human language and machine execution. We needed to show clarity, precision, and the revolutionary simplicity of executable specifications.
The mark.
Three asterisks before “plain” became the core symbol — raw, direct, unadorned. The typography mirrors the language’s philosophy: clean, readable, no unnecessary complexity. Monospace meets human readability in perfect balance.
Outcome.
***plain now has a visual identity as clear and purposeful as its code. The brand reflects the language’s core promise: transforming complexity into simplicity.

A programmer’s mind is logical, problem-focused, and detail-oriented, yet creative and systemic. It breaks complex problems into manageable pieces, anticipates consequences, spots patterns, and thrives on solving puzzles. Persistent, curious, and adaptable, it balances precision with big-picture thinking, turning abstract ideas into functional solutions.
Early computers often used green-on-black CRT screens, like the VT100 terminal, displaying text-only code. Programmers typed commands directly, fostering precision, focus, and patience, and the glowing green text became an iconic symbol of early computing.
